Spring/Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear
September 14, 2016
Naeem Khan’s Spring/Summer 2017 Collection showcased the designer’s versatility. Best known for his ability to add flair with embroidery and embellishment, some of this season’s pieces were a swift departure, instead designed with simple elegant lines, long, flowy fabrics and long splits.
Working with a color palette of red, blue, black, yellow and white, the looks featured were streamlined and sophisticated. Many pieces revealed his early beginnings at American sportswear line Halston. One real showstopper was a one-shoulder gown with a flowy cape.
Although room was made for versatility, Khan’s signature of embellishment was still present in the bohemian pieces, embroidered floral gowns and the embellished poet’s blouse. It was the combination of the expected and the unexpected that made Khan’s collection a delight.
